kabuki-kreations Thank you Michal and Fantastics. Personally I needed this album because it's just what I've been searching for as of late. I haven't had time yet to listen to everything in it's entirety but I know I will keep it in constant heavy rotation just like SpaceJazz and the first Pretty Fantastics Album. Not to mention Dreaming... and Even if.... The sound is modern and ancient all at once and digs so deep into your soul. Here is where you find true emotion, real self reflection / understanding and wonderment beyond worlds.

Horizon 03:06
Watch the sun spit blood on the horizon The worlds dying, the world’s dying Caught a rush of something inside then It went silent, it went silent No one is waiting for you No one to take you by the hand No one to walk you through this No one to help you understand How it ends
3.
Used to be so simple All the games we would play We spent years chasing shadows Never thought we would change Used to feel so young Life seemed like it wouldn’t end What happened to the people we were If I never see you again (I remember how it used to be) Used to be so simple.. Heading home with the setting sun Heavy soul & a steady gun All alone with everyone But That’s alright

Will things be different / will they stay the same Am I gonna be famous / or do I even believe in fame If you could go way back then / (to) when it wasn’t all just a dream Not just make believe / our future reality Gonna do things my way / gonna play by my rules And if you could see my face / you’d know I believe it, too Maybe I’ll even be a millionaire Yeah I’ll have diamonds in my pocket I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna do big things / gonna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna get somewhere / we’re gonna reach the stars (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna see new things / wanna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna get somewhere / wanna be a star Things are gonna be different / never stay the same And if I have it my way / everybody’s gonna know my name Come back then with me / to when it wasn’t just a dream Not just make believe / our future reality Now we’re doing it my way / now we’re playing by my rules If you could see what I see / I know you’d be smiling too Maybe I’ll even be a millionaire Yeah I’ll have diamonds in my pocket I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket, diamonds in my pocket (yeah) You know it’s hard out here for people doing the right, some people worse than me, they be starving like every night, stars their only light, they never had electricity, so I thank God for every single blessing He’s given me, but I can’t help it ya’ll, maybe I’m selfish, I find myself drawn to the power that wealth gives, and I ain’t alone, my people in the struggle know, we want a piece of the pie but first we gotta get the dough, it’s a process, a sequence, improbable quest, I want a hip-hop monopoly, community chest, maybe then and only then I’ll be relieved of the stress, that comes with holes in ya pockets, man nickels get missed, lost pennies are felt, money’s the root of all evil, I do bad by myself (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna do big things / gonna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna get somewhere / we’re gonna reach the stars (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna see new things / wanna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna get somewhere / wanna be a star Now things are different / still it’s all the same But I know we’re getting somewhere / no we ain’t chasing fame Stay right here with me / and I’ll show you what I’ve seen Not just make believe / this is reality I know life is in the little things / and we’ve already come so far Now we’re playing on the same team / yeah our names are written in the stars I don’t need to be a millionaire Cause I’ve got diamonds in my pocket I’m walking with diamonds in my pocket (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna do big things / gonna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) We’re gonna get somewhere / we’re gonna reach the stars (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna see new things / wanna go real far (I’ll be walking with diamonds in my pocket) Wanna get somewhere / wanna be a star (x2) Over 2nd time: (Now things are different) (And we’ve come so far) (Now I believe what I’ve seen) (It’s written in the stars)

When the light shines in My world looks so bright There are times When life will try To bring you down When you get high Those you love Will make you cry Folks you trust Gon’ tell you lies But don’t give up When you’re tired Of all the dead ends & goodbyes There is light On down the line You can still fall in love at least one more time.. One more time, Feels like life is tryin’ To bring you down When you get high Those you love Will make you cry Folks you trust Gon’ tell you lies But don’t give up When you’re tired Of all the dead ends & goodbyes There is light On down the line You can still fall in love At least one more time (Fall in love) (When the light shines in my world looks so bright)

I’m the one they overlooked, you see nobody understood, how he gon reach the people, he ain’t even from the hood, he ain’t even tatted up, i wonder if he tough enough, to any haters pucker up, I deliver bars Iike upper cuts, tho I was never upper crust, my little middle class ass, was past spendin cash on fashion, copped so many comic books, got lost in a dream and imagined, that I could be anything outside the box sin, my wingspan make these circle city blocks seem, smaller than before, cuz all I wanted was more, more time, more trust, more love, more us, more her, more them, more enemies turned to friends, well I finally made amends, cuz indy gave me a blend, of the purpose and direction, 35% of reflection is acceptance of the lessons learned, I’m in the public eye until it’s time for court adjourned, key to the city, who got it locked like a quarter turn? The only thing I ever really needed was respect, the only thing I ever really cheated was just death So i’ma do it til it’s nothin left, what I been through, you couldn’t even guess…so i’ma leave you to the rest
9.
All You Get 03:33
Time is just a word Life is but a dream Love is all you need and Money ain’t a thing cuz Everybody dies but Not everyone lives so Take it all in stride One life is all you get Let it all out Bet it all on yourself Get it all done Better off all alone than waiting on someone else let it all come Get it all felt Let em all break your heart Tell em all They will not break your soul, They will not take control, They will not make you start giving up Better on down the road head is up in the sky Everyone down below Never gon’ get this High Let em all know Never gonna let them down Never gonna let you go Everything comes around cuz Time is just a word.. (chorus)

Cascade 05:07
Falling like a cascade blunts in the ashtray Overflowin’ No one knowing if this is our last days So we’re living fast Trace pictures of the past Pray to the gods of cash Stay working til our backs break Caught up in a rat race Trapped in a damn cage All of this for stats paychecks & a handshake Promises we can’t break politics we can’t change People that we can’t save Bulletwounds & bandaids Falling like a cascade
12.
Away 03:58
You could take it all away I would make it all the way Left foot right foot we could get it right put everything behind us reaching for the light of day to find our way home
13.
If you don’t believe in ghosts Then why do you look frightened If those angels watch you close, Why’re you afraid of dying Caught you staring at the silence between stars that shine above us Wondering if Gods that made us do this too ya cuz the love us, or they hate us, or there's nothing but The stardust that we come from Time alive divided by the things we run to or we run from We become a sum of moments what is done cannot be undone Seasons pass like river waters to remind us we were young once... Summer’s gone All the leaves have changed Something’s wrong I see it in your face Time moves on Like a passing train When all along it’s the past we crave We’re all alone Summer leaves with the promise of being back The realest tragedy is wanting what’s in the past Something future-less, Yet we stay attached Til it swallows up the now, letting days elapse Ain’t no changing that which Itself escaped the chains Of being what it claimed to be, To have us play it’s stupid games Look what we became Bitter and afraid Searching for someone to blame For the mess we made Lying to ourselves Saying it’s the best we gave We’re obsessed with praise ‘Nothing less than great’ Testing fate with obsessive traits Demonstrating how to get away Without getting straight Kissing the devils face, Praying for heavens grace, Missing the lessons & chasing pain in depression wake So we self medicate, Talking to the mirror like ‘Nothing’s wrong’ Can’t seem to face the fact that Summer’s gone.. (chorus)

Solo Mission 06:13
I used to lie a lot Mostly to try and not be different Cried a lot cuz I could never find a spot to fit in Wanted to die and thought of ways to stop my clock from tickin’ Like my life was lost or maybe just that I was not for livin’ All I found was contradiction The plot thickened All I felt was constant friction Like what belonged was missin’ wishin’ I believed in anything with a strong conviction as believing that I wasn’t shit.. Still ain’t shit... still as real as it gets watching the colors leave the palette when you’re feeling depressed Watching lovers lose their balance when they see you’re a mess and losing touch with all around you when you’re dealing with stress, I guess it’d be perjury if I said something worked for me My purpose is to further my self worth beyond uncertainty Cursed with being smart to see just how absurd I act And birthed into this earth without a perfect map.. It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find some peace of mind It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find some peace of mind for myself All this darkness haunting me / got me so that I can’t see No stars above are guiding me / it’s a lonely sky And maybe it’s time to take a deeper look at what’s inside of me / Face the demons that are taunting me (yeah) All this weight that I’ve been bearing / all the secrets I ain’t sharing (ooh) Well they’ve got me suffocating And there ain’t no God that’s saving me / but if I go there I’m afraid That you won’t follow me / still it’s crystal clear to me It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / I gotta find some peace of mind Time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / ain’t no one can save me now but myself (If you find you find what you seek / all the joys you will keep Past and future meet / there you’ll find yourself) (x 2) I wanna talk about the pain that we’re in / I wanna walk with the strength of my friends I wanna stop and feel the rain on my skin / feel like I’m alive / stop chasing the end (x 2) It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / gotta find some peace of mind Time for a solo mission / gotta find what I’ve been missing It’s time for a solo mission / (gotta find some peace of mind) Yeah life, you got my listening / my fate is my decision It’s time for a solo mission It’s time for a solo mission / this is my soul’s ambition I’ve got to find redemption / I gotta find some peace of mind for myself If you find what you seek / all the joys you will keep Past and future meet / there you’ll find yourself (x2) As you were meant to be / living in perfect peace Send the storms back to sea / Here you can truly be As you were meant to be / living in perfect peace Send the storms back to sea / Here you can truly be free

The weight of it can break you The days they slip away And take a piece of you away, too Like details, of the faces you forget, make you afraid that the world you knew was fading into hazy distant shapes you can’t remember how this feeling became all that you can taste. Now the meaning and the reason have you silently enslaved In a dream you never needed in a country gone insane.. It’s gone too far can’t go back It’s all we are It’s what we lack It breaks my heart It drives me mad It’s all my fault It’s all I have It’s just too bad It’s all been done It’s all been said It’s all begun Is it all for self? For god? For country? For all we know, its all for nothing If it’s all for show the show’s over I’m going home To grow old While I hold you close The sun sets on a golden coast We are not alone No we’re not alone This must be where we belong Giving up the ghost And waking up To see the dawn Rest In Peace to our memories Burning these effigies of our ways Turning our heads to see what’s ahead Keep learning how not to do it the same And they say Time will tell But I’m done listening Life is hell And I’m no Christian Blind and deaf to the common goal You are not alone No, you’re not alone This must be where we belong Giving up the ghost And waking up To see the dawn And if it’s all for show the show’s over I’m going home to grow old while I hold you close The sun left us a while ago But we’re not alone No we’re not alone This must be where we belong Giving up the ghost And waking up To see the dawn

Raindance 04:10
It’s all on us to change Can’t keep living so afraid Got to keep each other sane Til the rain, rain, rain, rain, goes away Be careful with your heart This world can eat it whole Remember who you are Before you lose control

about

Michal Menert Denver, Colorado

With 'From the Sea', Gualala, California based artist and producer Michal Menert and his band the Pretty Fantastics have crafted a musical salve for those suffering from the relentless stream of contemporary reality. The record churns at the intersection of jazz, hip hop, and electronic music; following its own internal rhythm, it ebbs and flows between crystalline clarity and swirling opacity. ... more
